Spotted - round tailight Cuda in Winchester VA
« on: June 01, 2012 - 10:05:18 PM »
I moved yesterday, to Winchester, Virginia. As I was driving the truck to the storage bay I rented, there was a round-taillight Cuda following me for about a mile. Needless to say, I was in no position to get pics, but I'm wondering if anyone knows the car or the owner.

I saw a 72 last night at the Hagerstown mall car show that I never saw before. It was that pink color with a shaker hood. People were all over it so I didn't get to talk to the owner, but I heard him say he just completed it and it was a basket case field find. Without picking it apart, the car looked very nice! Every Saturday night they have a car show at the valley mall in Hagerstown, it is getting very big. I bet there was 200+ cars there last night. You have to check it out sometime. What color was the car you seen?

That's definitely not the one I saw, but it sounds interesting. The one I mentioned above was, I think, dark grey. It was late and I was in the middle of driving a 26' truck, so I didn't get to pay a lot of attention.

Funny thing is I saw another the next day in almost the same place. This one looked very stock, and was metallic brown.

When I get some time I'll come up to the Hagerstown show and check it out.

Welcome to VA.  I am a couple of hours away in Charlottesville  I belong to the Shenandoah Valley Mopar Club, we have some members from up around Winchester (but most are between Harrisonburg & Ch'ville), but I don't know any Cuda owners from up there.

Thanks. I actually lived in VA from 63 until 96, and got pulled back for a job that turned out to be less than I had hoped. I'm just living with my brother for a moment, so I don't think I'll be here long, but you never know.

All the folks Im around in North Carolina mark Winchester by saying 'when ya hit Winchester Va, you're almost up north!" Haha. Rode thru there about a week ago actually on my way to Baltimore.  Beautiful country. Heck, Va is a beautiful state all around

That's true; you're about an hour from the Mason Dixon line here.

VA is a beautiful place, but the DC suburbs are the armpit of humanity. I think I'd rather live in a Delhi ghetto than go back to the DC area.

I could agree with that. I go to D.C. quite a bit, and I tell ya I never get used to the rush and fast pace, and the lack of caring to be honest. Its not that the people in the city are mean, they just don't go out of their way AT ALL to help you. But while I was in Baltimore this past time, cruising around the Glen Burney area, I saw a Challenger at a car show they were having at one of the shopping malls.  Looked to be a 70 and yellow I think? Just saw it driving down the road....anyway, it is a totally different way of life in that D.C. area for sure

Yep hagerstown md. They started doin the cruise in about 10 years ago. You will see a little bit of everything from ratrods to showcars, old and new. There is a true 71 rt chally that shows up on occasion, also a 70 hemi cuda. I dont recall seeing the cudas you saw. When the weather is good it is a good show! Many restraunts and stores in the area. Bring the chally and maybe ill see you there.

Wow - I never saw ANY good cars when I lived in Hagerstown!!  We lived out in Cearfoss - a little bit NW of Hagerstown.  I commuted to DC every day - hated my life!  My Viper sat for so much that year - I think I put less than 500 miles on it!  Unfortunately my Cuda was sold before I moved down there.  :(

Yeah, every Saturday night. I haven't been down there in quite a while(2 years), but I think AARuFAST is a frequent attendee.

NC, give me a shout if you are in the area again.
