    Just a quick question, if you run an electric fuel pump with no regulator on a carb, will it/ can it cause problems? Thanks.

    It depends, but the short answer is "Yes". No regulator or return line means that the fuel pressure could overpower the needle/seat assembly and flood the bowl and spill gas into the engine.

    Some electric pumps are rated as street pumps , these usually put out about 6 psi unregulated & will work fine with a carb & no regulator , others are race pumps & put out much higher pressure requiring a reg to drop pressure before the carb

    My 2 pennies worth...

    I ran an electric pump for one season. It was a Mallory, and was rated for the street, but my mechanical fuel pressure gauge was a steady 11 PSI. So don't always believe what a company tells you. I installed a regulator to get it back down to 6 PSI.

    always better to run a regulator,,esp with electric fuel pumps no matter what the manf says,,mines set at 5 1/2 lbs,no bypass..street mallory 110 comp pump..seen at upper left hand side of pic..with gauge..
