Unless there is a good reason to post pictures of parts I won't do it as I have 39,000 part numbers and would be spending all my time taking pictures of things that one would assume the buyer knows what it looks like.

I agree.  I know what the grille looks like, don't know if you have it or what shape its in.  I've seen NOS all beat up from being on a shelf or get smashed while in its box.

One strategy for this would be to say "Anything I'm going to post online is special piece, and therefore worth having a pic taken and posted."

Uh.....errrrrrr.....wouldn't the fact that someone is interested and asking for a picture, someone who might buy it, be a "good reason" ?

This is a great group of folks here and they aren't going to inquire about pictures for a part unless they are interested in it.

Just sayin'.

Even though it's forum policy to list location ,price and a pic? Oh yeah, you probably don't have to follow the rules.   :stirpot:

I think that post may have been Marty's last, so he may have decided that he doesn't like it here  :(

I'm on the fence with this one.  I see both sides.  It's nice to see a picture of what you are buying yet he has thousands of NOS parts.  There's no way he can post pics of them all.  There are plenty of people who ask for pictures that have no intension of buying anything.  Maybe a forum isn't the place to sell parts when you have a huge inventory.  If someone is looking for an NOS part, they will find you.  :2cents:

I see your point, and I'm sure people in that position post and e-mail lots of pics for no reason. That being said, I can't see how one could hope to make a sale when someone says "Can you post a pic?" and your answer is "No." You'd pretty much have to be selling that factory 72 Hemi

:iagree: He wasn't asked to post pictures of an entire inventory. Just one grill.  :o

This is the line in question. "one would assume the buyer knows what it looks like." Just because something is nos doesn't mean it is perfect. it is still a 38 year old part. I know what a 72-74 grille looks like, but $285.00 is a lot of money to shell out and I don't think asking for a picture is too much to ask. Especially if you want to sell it.
