Steering Wheel Binding
« on: June 17, 2012 - 01:12:06 AM »
Howdy guys,
Recently I've had some issues with my steering wheel binding at a certain point in the rotoation.
I'm planning on taking the wheel off and inspecting, but has anyone else run across this issue? I assume there are bearings of a sort in there?

there is one bearing at the top under the turn signal switch . Make sure the bottom of the colunm is centered , the 3 bolts on the floor allow a lot of movement to center the tube with the shaft , the coupler might also have a tight spot or the steering box itself

I think I've isolated the issue, it appears my HUB ("Crushed Can") is a bit bent. I'm just going to pick up a steering wheel puller, but once I get it off, does anyone know how difficult it will be to re-install it?

It's not difficult at all. You just have to take note of how it's keyed. There is one thread that is wider then the others(if that makes sense).
