Pass Question
« on: June 19, 2012 - 10:26:17 AM »
I am bringing the Charger to Carlisle for the car corral. I got my pass but I plan on leaving the car there and driving my truck back and forth to the hotel.
My question is since I am leaving the car there over night do I get a pass to come back on saturday or since my pass is on the car do I pay to come back?

Where is your truck going to be?  If you're going to leave the truck on the grounds as a towing vehicle, then it should have a pass as well, so you should be able to come-and-go in it.

They're usually pretty finicky about people coming and going without passes - whenever my wife would bring in her (non-mopar) car to bring in lunch, she'd have to pay the $50 admission to enter, and then get refunded it when she left.  Such a pain for a 5-minute stop...

Best bet is to ask when you get there, unless your truck has a pass, in which case you should be fine.

Thanks for the info Vipeman. I figure I would park my truck and trailer in one of the parking lots. It's really no big deal if I have to pay regular admission on Saturday I just figured if I see if there was away to save. The problem is I have to pick up parts for another car and they are too big to put in the Charger or I would just leave the truck at the hotel and drive the Charger.

That was my thought, but it makes it tough to pull off once you decide to take a shower later that night.    :o

Have you registered already? I would use the paper that they send you for the goody bag pick-up as proof that I paid for the weekend. It has your car info on it, so I think you would get by that way.

Hi everyone

This will be my first time to Carlisle. I will be there basically to buy parts, so I plan to enter the site to get what I need. My Caravan will be parked in the spectator parking lot. Is it a problem, going back and forth from the site to the parking lot to drop my parts in the van?

Thanks!

Robert

Nope - you get your hand stamped on your way out, and half the time they don't check it on your way back in, especially if later in the day.

You'll be fine.  Also there isn't really a "spectator lot" - per se.  There is I think one lot near the retro dealership that the grounds owns, but other than that you pay a few bucks to park in a field or someone's front lawn.  :)  You'll have a blast watching all the townies out in their lawn chairs with cruedly made "park here" signs!  :D

As of last year, they were only charging $10 a day to park. The fairgrounds does have some parking, but it fills up and you have to park in someone's yard or a business lot further out...It might be a pain to carry anything heavy that far.

If you are going to be at Carlisle more than 1 day, just enter your Caravan in the show field.  That way you get free admission and its not as far to walk with your parts.
