I just got a TC from Dynmaic and it has no weights on it at all, running a Pro Sport balancer and it has no weight either.

1970 Cuda 383
2008 Titan
2010 G37s

OK thank you.  So do I understand what you're saying is the weight in the picture is attached to the back of the torque converter not the flex plate?  Can the weight be removed from that position or does the converter have to come out of the car entirely? 

I guess this means, if the car vibrates with that weight and the externally balanced harmonic balancer the both have to be replaced...

At this point it is just a guess , so your 383 is a cast or steel crank ?
 steel crank will require no balance , cast may require a different weight on the converter .
You can remove the weight carefully , I would drill the spot welds & try to pry it off , do not drill too deep though or grind the metal away , you do not want to create a leak .

I wish I knew which crank it had but it was set up this way when I bought it.  Is it true you can't tell from looking at the ends?

And if its a cast crank, that still might not be the correct weight on the converter?

The block is a 1970.
