News:
Here are some rough preliminary drawings for the design of the car. It will NOT have a Shaker Hood as in the sketch. We plan on using a Rally Hood and a Luggage Rack on the Trunk. Question? Will it be a 4 dr sedan or a 4 dr hardtop? The drawing shows a HT and sedan.. The actual photo on the first posting shows sedan, frame around driver dr window.Like the HT look.
The weird thing about this project is we did not have a vehicle to start with! Everything is being obtained piece by piece and then assembled. BS41HOB100000 is the VIN number.
Not "WHY" but..........WHAT IF? We have been involved with Custom Restorations, Driver Car Restorations and OE Restorations! You can only go to the same watering hole so many times before it becomes redundant. It is time to do something that has never been done before! We are going to manufacture a car that was a concept idea but never available for the public to see up close and personal. Every vehicle manufacturer actually made 4 door prototype versions of their Performance vehicles. The 64 Mustang, 1967 Camaro, AMC Javelin and others. They never made it into production but were intriguing to say the least. This Cuda will look like it was manufactured by Chrysler with all the Factory details if it had been mass produced and released to the public. What If........! Here is a link on the 4 door 65 Mustang that (also) never made it to production. http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2008/10/23/so-ford-did-consider-a-mustang-station-wagon-among-other-body-styles/
Hi, None of the above! I heard that one had been built as a prototype back in the day and thought it would be interesting to reconstruct it. I can't wait to see 4 people exit a 1970 Cuda at the exact same time!
That is pretty cool. Can't wait to follow the progress. I think I actually like the station wagon look for the car. What's wrong with the 4x4 chassis?
I would like to get some input from those who are following this thread. Should we incorporate as many NOS parts in the project as possible or should we make this car a rolling testimonial for the new parts that Manufacturers are producing? There are some really nice pieces that are currently being offered and developed by the MOPAR Industry! This 4 door is obviously not a Factory built OE vehicle, so does it matter on things like original Tires, Interior Materials, Wiring Harnesses, etc......? Your thoughts and ideas are appreciated!
Some of you know that ECS is involved with building . a "ONE of a KIND" Plymouth Concept Vehicle that involves both Chrysler and the DMV. We are assembling an OE type Four Door 1970 Plymouth Cuda The concept was taken from the ONLY red vehicle that was actually built (and later destroyed) by Chrysler in 1969. We will be covering the process and hope that everyone will join in the pictorial journey as things progress. The vehicle will hopefully be displayed at the 2013 SEMA show and be the only one in the World of its kind. Here is a teaser of what's to come.
