anyone else just not in hurry to get their car out???
« on: June 23, 2012 - 02:32:47 PM »
So we have had an amazing spring this year, but my cuda is still in the garage.  I am working on wraping up a few winter projects etc.

I love working on it, and would love to have everything done and ready to go, but I can't say that I am in any great hurry either.

I have had a buch of stuff going on personaly, and the car is jus tnot the priority I guess.  At the same time, I know that it will be hot to drive (no AC) and the cam and stock convertor do not work weel togethern, so it is not always that great to drive on the street.  There is a buch of other stuff I want to do but do not have the time or the cash to do it all.

SO all in all, I am just not that motivated to get it do right now, except of course when I see another classic rumbling down the road, that will get the jucies flowing!!!

Anyone else in the same boat????  :dunno:

It's been killing me NOT being able to drive my challenger. The last I drove it was in November to a charity event and it broke the starter (again)  :faint: I need to drop the transmission and pull the torque convertor to have the ring gear repaired. We had such a mild spring and great car working weather, but I've been working 12 hour shifts and also trying to overhaul my daughters car (family first). I finally got off the 12 hour wagon and got my daughters car fixed, but now it's 95 degrees & I'm just not up to a sweat bath right now. I can do that at work!!  :walkaway: I just need some cooler weather and renewed motivation!  :woo: I know what you mean when you see another cool car rolling down the hwy!  :ylsuper:

I'm kind of in the same boat. Did the spring show with the T/A and it's not been out of the trailer since. Nor has it been started. I have been driving the Indy Ram alot because it's way better on gas then the HEMI 4X4. I took the new Challenger to get the oil changed over a month ago and it's not been driven either. I guess it's been a pretty busy summer so far. I helped the son in law build a new wood fence and this past week while he has been gone at guard duty I fixed a rust spot on his truck. I also changed the left front fender and repainted it. Just got done with it at 1:30 this afternoon. Now I'm just taking it easy.

Same here as well as I`ve only had the cuda out twice. My problems are that it`s stored 1/2 hour away,no garage to work on it and it needs a bunch of maitenence/things fixed.Living in an apartment really sucks and I can`t wait to have a house and garage back!

A lot of people will not finish there cars, since if its done, then theres nothing to work on anymore.
I've run into many guys who wont finish there cars for fear they will lose interest if its completed!
Some people just need something to tinker with, I would rather get my challenger completed and drive it.

I'm so close to getting out of this hobby I don't even know what to say.  The only one of my 3 cars I have any interest in is the one I'll never have the extra money to restore now. The other two I have very little interest in. So I know what you mean.

The Challenger has sat alone in garages for many years at a time, I never thought to throw in the towel  though. It has always been there if the urge for a drive strikes or I need a "Nice Car" fix. :grinyes:

Life gets busy and it must be dealt with, that's just the way it goes.  Going back to reclaim a lost friend is sometimes not possible though. :2cents:

I have been deprived of driving mine as she is not out of project status yet and I Have the major itch to get mine done, just money and time and researching things keeping me from cruising the streets,...soon....soon. I have not seen many on the road this year but I have seen a few , actually I have not seen many of any brand of muscle car outside of the million rustangs I have seen driving on the street.

Could you sell two and have some money for the other one?I have a couple other projects as well as the cuda and have thought about selling.Right now I have no money to work on them and have considered selling them but I`m not giving up yet and hopefully things get better money wise.

I don't have any interest in selling. Although I would sell the Indy Ram if someone wanted it. It's just one of those summers that the cars are setting. Don't really know why! I've missed the last 2 cruise nights do to lack of interest.  :violin:

Im self employed, wife works at Victoria's Secret, we have 5 kids....... we take the car out for a drive EVERY chance we get, nothing wipes out the days crap like some wind in the hair.   Life takes precedence but knowing the cuda is in the garage keeps us sane

I have only had the Cuda and Charger out so far this spring, reason being that they have a 440 and  383 and they fire up and drive perfectly when cold, the Challenger on the other hand, having the 318 takes a bunch of time to warm up and get going.  As a result, it has been out only twice in the last two years :(

I can't take my Cuda out simply cause i'm not done with the engine bay yet, heck for that matter i don't even have the paint yet. Being out of work for four months killed me and i'm still playing catch up on overdue bills  >:( I miss my Cuda and i want to drive it so damn bad

Wow,

Sounds like I'm not the only one that has been busy this summer. I sometimes get fed up with working on cars (not just the Mopars) for family members, but I just walk away and come back later & it gives me joy to see that shiny Mopar sitting in the garage. I know some folks get fed up, or run out of funding (or it's too flippin' hot) as I do as well, but my whole perspective changes when I roll out the monster and breeze down the hwy and wave back at the thumbs up and turned heads!! Mopars make me happy!!! :woo:
