Has anyone taken notice of this car? I twas listed a few weeks ago and didn't sell. Just out of curiosity I called to get a price...........now try to guess...........

CudabeforeIdie ...Here is yer chance it is a famous car ,... a clone,.. but from a real cuda and has the elephant under the hood!!  Vert. Drive it!! Hard to turn a famous car like that back into a 70.

It comes up every so often, about every 6-9 months. I have no idea whether it's the same owner trying to sell it or a succession of flippers.

Just one of those deals where it's only worth what someone is willing to pay.  I've seen it around DFW, but that was several years ago.

Nash Bridges was a tv show starring Don Johnson who had a 1970 hemi cuda convertible (which was mocked up to look like a 1971). The show made the car popular. They made 4 or 5 clones of the car for the show. But there is no way you get 2 or 3 real (matching numbers) hemi convertible cudas for that price, unless they were total wrecks. A real one in good condition might even cost more.

Back in 2005 ish ONE of the SEVEN real 71 cuda convertibles sold for over $4,000,000 so yes a real one will cost quite a bit more then this famous clone priced at $275,000

I don't understand because a car was used on a TV show that some people think it should be worth a lot  of money.What value does that bring to a car?Is there a red book out showing the values of famous cars that were in movies or on TV.Do people drive around in these cars with a sign attached to it stated what is was used in.Hey look there goes that truck that was used in"Lassie". I don't get it.

In some ways I agree with you, but then, to me, a car is worth no more than another just because it rolled out of the factory with a hemi. There are just folks who dig movie and tv cars, and they will, by definition, be one of a handful at most.

So you don't think The Dukes of Hazzard made the General Lee Charger more popular and hence more valuable? A tv show or movie that portrays a certain type of car will make it more desirable to the public which in turn increases the value of the car.  Not a big mystery to me.

I think it's no different than buying a car that was featured in a magazine or book.  It's cool to have something that you can point to and say "Yup that's my car".
