'71 v-code Challenger R/T resto... a lot today - 9/21
« on: June 24, 2012 - 09:16:39 PM »
Hey gang...
Just got my friend's '71 v-code Challenger R/T.. I'm going to put it back together for him.... The game plan is to have fun, learn more about E-bodies and he going to pay me to do it (granted, it's always "weird" taking money from a friend, but he knows it would help my '69 C500's restoration)... So, it's a win-win situation..

Vitals:
Dark Bronze Metallic, black interior, black top, 440 six pack, 727, 3.23 suregrip. He's going with some performance mod's...

1. Makin' room and straightening this out....
2. Arrival
3. parked next to the 500
4. parked next to the 500 - rear
5. Goodies in the boxes to put her back together
6. >>>

Hahaha.. Thanks... As my friend tells me, my garage looks much better now that the E's in there.....

I do have to agree. I'm diggin' the Bronze and the '71 as a whole..... I'm looking forward in having a lot of fun finishing it up for him.......

Cool car!  Cool color actually; getting tired of high impact colors.

Ballast resistor on the firewall there not the correct place FYI.  It's closer to the wiper motor (plus stock uses a two-prong unit).

Yeap, all different and more up in the attic... I waited nearly 20 years until I finally had a garage big enough to build plate shelves for them all.
I have a mixture of both domestic and international along with old and new.....

There will be many things I "correct" on this car... Other than the performance modifications to the drivetrain and I believe wheels, I will put as mush as I can back to OEM-correct.... I'm anal that way...

It has been awhile, but it doesn't mean I haven't done a lot.... My buddy's '71 is coming along rather well and I'm learning a LOT about the E-bodies.....

1. Julie helping with the front valance
2. Lights work great !!!
3. wheel lip moulding, all four..... Man, I'm telling you, I'm glad the moulding is made of soft material, for the fit left a lot to be desired....
4. got the hood, pins and emblems on... I need to push back the bumper some since I have the black inserts in now.
5. exterior window "cat whiskers" and mirror....
6. close up of the "440 SIX PACK"...
7. DynaMat installed, worked like a charm and really improved the sound of the door closing.....
8. test fit of the interior front door panels...
9. rear of the car.....

Alan, whatcha mean? It is an original Dark Bronze Metallic car with black interior. What's staring at you that causes you to ask that? I've seen the fender tag ( Unfortunately, the jerk the ran off back home after ICE tracked him down stole/lost his fender tag )......   :swear:

It is a K6 exterior,  X9 interior..
