If you are converting from drum to disc/drum brakes, you need to have a hold off / proportioning valve!!!!!!  If not, it will cause the rear wheels to engage sooner than the fronts and will cause you to start to skid and have the back end of the car come around on you.  Trust me, I thought I was doing good by putting a pig tail in place of the valve when I had it out for rebuild.  One of the more scarier moments driving my car.  After that ride, I dead lined the car till I got the part back.  You can also pick up an adjustable proportioning valve from a speed shop or somewhere on line.  I actually think I still have the adjustable one that was on my car when I changed it out with the factory correct one.

Received the 3rd hold-off valve yesterday. When I talked with them a week ago, they said I shouldn't have to do anything to it other than install the 3 lines. I did, and it poured out the bottom like before. It's funny that the plug/spring/pin in the bottom doesn't have a copper washer or anything for sealing. I can't tighten it up enough to make it stop leaking.

I guess I call Fine Lines and get my money back from Inline Tube. This has been a 2-month ordeal and I'm getting sick of it.    :pullinghair:

Does anyone have a stock hold-off (or metering) valve? I don't want it, I want to see if mine is missing a part. It probably could be off any Mopar that has disk/drum, it doesn't have to specifically be an e-body.

When you remove the threaded silver plug and rubber seal, is there a flat washer that comes out next? On the units I have, the plug (and its flat surface) seats up agains what looks like another flat surfaced piston. Both the plug and the piston have holes in the center. You can see this in the attached photo. The piston is still inside the valve body.

What is still happening is that fluid is leaking through the holes and coming out of the rubber seal next to the pin. What I think is causing this is that the fluid is pressurized and flowing around the outside of the brass piston. The plug should be seated tight up against the piston (flat surface to flat surface). When the fluid is under pressure, it is forced between the flat surfaces and out the hole in the center by the rod.

What I think might be missing is some type of rubber/plastic flat washer that would be squeezed between the flat surfaces of the plug and piston that would seal off the fluid.

I'm hoping someone might have one of these that they could take the plug out of and see if there is a flat washer/seal. Maybe there's a batch of parts that were produced that were missing the part. An exploded view would be ideal, but I can't find one.

Although the 73 valve is a completely different style, there is an O-ring under that fitting.  Also, the valve points UP on the 73 valve...not DOWN.

That makes sense. It needs something to seal.

I talked with Inline Tube this morning. I was asking if they had an exploded diagram of the part to see if there was a missing seal or if these just don't work by some other design flaw. They didn't have one and said that they'd refund my money for the part and didn't have any other solution. They didn't ask for the others to be returned. They also said that they don't usually have problems with these.

So.... I called Fine Lines. I explained the situation and they said they've had multiple people call who've had issues with all types of Inline valves and that they weren't surprised with my frustration. They're sending me a new one today. Time will tell.

   I was wondering what was under that silver plug, I don,t know if a o-ring would do any good there, I think the fluid is leaking from around that little shaft from inside,  whatever there using to seal that shaft is not holding back the pressure of braking, mine continues to leak. I wonder if the Finelines valve is any better.

Directly under the silver plug is the brass plate, both with the hole in it. beneath that is the rubber seal with the pin in the center. It sort of looks like the center is sealed pretty well so I was thinking that the fluid is getting past the outside of the rubber seal and then forcing its way between the brass plate and the silver plug. Since it's just metal to metal and not really sealed. It seems like a plastic/rubber flat washer might do it but I really don't know.

I'm expecting the new one from Fine Lines probably sometime this week. I'm hopeful and I'll be sure to let everyone know. Talk about frustration, this is pushing 2 months of hassle.

 peterro; thanks for the update, very frustrating when you put all new parts on & continue to have this leaking problem, plus every time you open the system you have to start the bleeding all over again, guess I better buy a gallon of brake fluid, let us know how the Fineline valve works out or if you can make the Inline valve work by adding a seal.

Hello I know I'm late to the leak party but I'm having the same issue do you have the fine line part number?
