The e-body styling makes the Challenger/Cuda the most attractive musclecar of that era. The fact that there are just not that many e-bodies around anymore also makes them attractive.  I do like Camaros and Mustangs too they just don't hold the same mystique for me.

I bought my Challenger R/T convertible while in high school for $1400 almost 30 years ago.  Spent many thousands on it without blinking an eye and the love affair still continues.  Maybe it's nostalgia and not wanting to to give up my youth.   Don't think I will ever tire of this car or the hobby itself.  Now my 2 daughters are fighting over it!

Similar to REV, I would like to have a Cuda too, but I like the 70 AAR for its all-around performance characteristics.

 :dontknow:

Well the story on me getting my 71 was this.My husband owns alot of gtos and some other cars and he thought it be a good idea to get me a car so we could go to the shows together.Well anyway he started to build me a 67 firebird about half way thru i decided i did not want it i wanted something else.He then offered me a 68 rs/ss convertible camaro he had sitting in the yard.I did not want that either. So he tried one last car a 68 gto convertible again no dice i did not want it so back into storage it went.I decided to look for my dream car i knew i wanted a mopar but was unsure which one.The i saw a 70  cuda i told him i want that.He freaked said no damn mopar in my stable!!!But he asked me to find a car and i did.So after argueingwith him he bought it for resto. But 3 months later the cuda i have now came up for sale thru a friend and he said to my husband if you going to build her a mopar then build he the ultimate one a 71 cuda.He agreed after some persuwasion. He finally saw things in my view. Now he built the car i have in a 1 1/2 years.

Now that the car is done he likes it but still not a mopar person by any means. He is a pontiac guy thru and thru and i dont think anything will change him.But i got my dream car and i am happy and that is all that concerns him.He like to build the pontiacs cause he knows them inside and out the cuda was a little bit more of a challenge due to the various parts it took seems like everything for that car was a special part and cost a million dollars. So that is why i have what i have and it took alot to get it and i am going to enjoy every minute i can.You only live once and should have a good ride as long as you can.

I was indoctrinated young. I was watching TV with my grandfather one night when I was about 13, and happened to pass, what else, Nash Bridges. I saw the car and fell in love with it. And, I have been an E-body fanatic ever since.

My father was a MOPAR man all the way...he swore by the slant 6's...so my first car was a slant 6 B'cuda gran coupe (1976). And i was building models of Cudas and Challengers since they first came out in 1970. Just loved the look of the cars. And while I've owned plenty of other Mopars, and other makes of musclecars, I always come back to the E-bodies.

Why e-bodies???  For me, I remember going to car shows, thinking I wanted an old Firebird or something.  Actually, there was an old Firebird sitting on blocks at an old lady's house down the street from me.  I wanted to buy it and fix it up so bad.  I made me sad sitting there, beginning to rot away.  It belonged to her nephew and he wouldn't sell it.  I am glad he didn't.  About a year later I saw my first Cuda at a car show.  From that day on I knew I had to have one.  I never thought it would become a reality though!  I still don't know what year that first Cuda I saw was, but it left such an impression on me.

I loved anything to do with cars as a kid-models,slot cars etc and as I got a little older i would of course freak out anytime a nice muscle car drove by.When I got to high school in `74 there were plenty of nice cars in the parking lot-Chevelles,Mustangs etc. and I drooled over all of them. Then one day a kid who had a fast big block Chevelle showed up in a gorgeous dark red mettalic `73 340 4 spd  `cuda with Cragars and I fell in love with it.My first car ended up being a `68 Chevelle but I always seemed to love the Mopars, especially the `cudas and challengers so in `82 I took some money and went looking for muscle car with a `cuda on the top of the list.I guess I like it `cuz it `s a little different and stands out more than any Mustang or Chevelle with wilder colors and options.

;D  I forgot to add  they are unquestionably the meanest looking ,bad ass sounding things on the road.
Why are the only other cars on the road all in my rear view mirror?  Oh yeah cause I got a 440/6 pack

Thank you GOD for the "Go Fast Division"

I have always liked E-bods, Chally's especially. My problem is that I also like 2nd gen Chargers, 71 GTX's, 70 SuperBee's, 69 Mach 1's, 72 Torino's, 69 Cramaro's, 70 GTO's, 70 Chevelle's, 70 AMX's...then there's trucks!

If it was a perfect world, I'd have one of each of those & a LOT more! They each have their good points, and in my opinion, Mopar's have a style all their own.

For now, I've got my Charger & I love it.
If the timing's right, I'll gladly snag a Chally or Cuda next...like this one maybe! ;D

Being a very recent convert I would have to say that it is narrowed done to 2 things. Looks and performance.
They look just BAD ASS period. Low, wide, and mean Of course the sound of a bb mopar is unmistakeable. Their motors i have come to find out are alot eaiser to get serious power out of then chevy or ford from what i have read and been told..its also nice to not see one on every street corner(that would be cool also).

,,,,,Well I was about 16 yrs old. My dad found a 72 340 4-spd Challenger for sale. The guy had been racing it and twisted the crank in half. About the time he got it fixed x-mas was here. I think it was '79 so I ended up with the car for x-mas. I think he paid $500. for it. Anyway I drove it for about a year and sold it to a neighbor. After a few months I had to have another so the search was on. Since then I have had 14 Challengers and one of the two I currently own I have had since May of 1981.(red one). I have owned chargers camaros and several others but always prefered the e-body's after that first.

WHEN I WAS ABOUT 16 I SAW A GOLD CUDA WITH ROUND TAILLIGHTS DRIVE DOWN THE BLOCK ON THE WEEKENDS. THIS THING LOOKED AND SOUNDED AWESOME. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT IT WAS, BUT I HAD TO HAVE ONE. NOW I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THEM.
