no brakes
« on: June 29, 2012 - 11:51:51 AM »
got all my brake system installed and bled out,   original vac booster, new master cyl, new lines, original prop valve, new rotors pads,  calipers good, new shoes and hardware on rear,   without engine running, working the pedal it has some resistance but,,,  no pressure through the lines to either front or rear.  I figure i would at least hear the springs working on the rear. and power brakes should at least work without the vacuu (correct).   Maybe the booster push rod isnt engaging the master cyl?  there a way to check and adjust it?     kind of stumped here on this one.  and I'm planning on my initial engine fire up tomorrow if things go right  :1zhelp:

Maybe have someone SLOWLY  push the brake pedal while you watch to see if any fluid is moving with the M/C cap off?  If you see nothing either the M/C is bad or the rod is not the correct length?

How did you bleed the brakes if you didn't have any pressure at the wheels?

Make sure you bench bleed the master if you didn't.  Measure how much of the rod is sticking out past the mounting face of the booster.  Then measure how deep the bore is in the back of the master.

Yeah, what he said.  It shouldn't matter if you're using vacuum or not, the brakes
should work normally but a bit harder without the engine running. Sounds like you
need to re bleed the system.
If I cant fix it, it's broke
