Looking for Rally wheels HELP
« on: July 02, 2012 - 10:43:44 PM »
Looking for rally wheels. Do they come in 3 piece sets? Wheel, trim rings and center cap? Do you buy these separate?
2- 15x8's and 2- 15x7's

not sure if my car is a 5" x 4 or a 5' 4x 1/2 bolt pattern. It's a 1970 Challenger R/t

I added a picture for the wheels i am looking for. what website/company has the best prices on these rims?

I'm planning to put 275-60-15 Firehawk INDY 500 on the rear and 235-60-15 on the front.

thank you for your comments and your help.

I bought my last set off ebay and came with 21 5X7 and 2 15X8 rally wheels center caps, and trim rings. The back spacing was 4.25 inch and 4.5 inch back spacing. They were under $750.00 shipped to my door and came from Wheel Vintiques but my center caps where dark argent and 70"s are light argent silver. Hope this helps and this should of been under suspension, wheels / tires, & brakes section. I think you can buy these cheaper from summit so that is the way I would go. I know they sell the center caps and trim rings for the Rally wheels.

Check out the prices at Summit Racing.  That's where I got my 15x8's.  You'll have to buy trim rings and center caps separate.  The wheels also come in a gray color.  You'll need to repaint them in the correct argent.

Mike at BE&A sells center caps.  I'm not sure where you can buy correct trim rings.  They should be available though.

I believe these are the correct center caps for a 1970:

I actually prefer the darker ones to make the paint pop but it would be very easy to swap them out if need be.

what is the difference between the 49 series and the 56 series wheels?

It looked like the 49 series was a chrome version

aaah i see thank you.
In 1970 they did not come with chrome versions most likely. so the 56 series is like the original 1970 wheels.
what about the trim rings?

Summit sells the 15" Wheel Vintiques trim rings, however I have not yet purchased them for my car, so I am not 100% sure on the details of those.

I bought mine from summit...if you call in the order and get tires from them too they will mount and balance for free...shipping is like ten bucks per wheel...this was far cheaper than buying just the wheels from them then buying tires locally...i went with cooper cobras...locally just buying the tires and having them mounted was anywhere from six to eight hundred...paid 9 somethin from summit for wheels and tires

The wheels from Vintiques are not very good , mine were not true and were very hard to balance.....the center caps are very cheep and are wobble when they turn. trim rings are all the same size , so if you by the wider rims the rings will  have a big space between the rim and ring......
