Autowire install pointers

I received my kit today. Looks pretty straight forward but I figured I should check to see if anyone that has dealt with one of these kits had any suggestions?

I'm not familiar with that kit specifically, but I have wired an ebody from a bundle of wires before. I ended up starting from the right rear corner and worked my way into the interior then up to the passenger headlight. It was a lengthy process but it all worked the first time!

i took a quick glance at the instructions and it says that this kit is designed for a one wire alt. ive heard nothing but bad feedback on the one wire alt, i wonder why this outfit chooses them ?  there must be a way to use a 3 wire.

   The factory 2 field alternator is so simple to hook up to wire it as a 3 wire if you need to hook it up.  Outside voltage reg wire goes to a alt's field terminal.  Center voltage reg pin, gets 12v on Key-on and also goes to the other alt field terminal. Big terminal goes to the battery.

 i think that's what i'll do, as much as i would love to have a one wire, the more i read the more it sounds like a bad idea.

I done a search on this site and there are several members that have had issues with them overcharging. I've also talked with several that have never had an issue.  Since I posted this thread I have completed the Autowire install and ive decided to try the one wire. From my understanding I don't need to wire in a relay for my engine cutoff switch wich simplifies things. Maybe I'll regret it, maybe not. We will see

I need to retract the part I said about the cutoff switch.  They had me convinced that I didn't need to kill the ignition but I will still need to.

Ok, my brother has a neat little onewire powermaster on his 69 Mustang. I think the internal regulator is the way to go! I'm also considering to do an autowire harness..

 the autowire kit is awsome, alot of work but very thourough instructions. when i was installing mine i thought to myself '' a moron must have wrote these instructions cause i can understand them perfectly''   
 in hindsight i would have went with factory wireing for the taillights just because the autowire is for all years of e bodies so you have to terminate all ends according to what you have. the headlights are the same, you have to terminate all ends. another thing, when you purchase their kit they give you the option to buy the crimping tools from them, i didn't bother but i should have.

Now I'm GONNA buy it! My change wire from the alternator burned of at the firewall today! Have spent the afternoon changing the alt, and stretching a thick fat wire from the alt to the starter. And I also put a extra wire from the starter to the startrelay.

I read that the AAW kit does not support some options like map light, time delay relay and overhead console.. Is that correct?

 this is true but there are candelbra's just like the factory harness has so i would think those would work. unless your looking for factory correct wich this kit is not.
 another thing fyi, i was told the fan was on a relay. it has a seperate wire/fuse wich is great but you still need to run a seperat power wire and realay for the fan. not a big deal but just one more thing
