Air vents

Does anyone know if the air vents can be removed from the dashboard?  If so, how?  I would like to paint them blue to match the exterior.

Given he used the word "restored", I think he was talking about an older Challenger.    :2cents:

Is it possible to achieve what you want to do with a small bottle of touch up paint the same as your body color?

I got a little bottle of Tored touch up paint on E-Bay for my car.

There is hardware that holds them in from the back side. Get behind the dash  and remove these screws, then the vent will pull out of the face of the dash.

Once the vent is out and on the bench, use a pair of needle nose pliers to pull out these two press in studs and vent retainer clip.

Once those pieces of hardware are out, remove the push in pins in the side of the vent housing. The internal directional vents will then come out.

At this point, if you are really careful, you can replace vent vanes or control levers as needed. When I had mine out, I sanded down the chrome trim and hand painted it body color. I then reinstalled and voila!

YellowFin, man, you gotta scroll to the top of the page and see what forum you're in!  This is for NEW Challengers!  2008 and newer!

We're trying to figure out how to take the vents out of Oh10's 2010 Challenger!  :)  Her dash looks a liiiiiiiiiittle different than what you pictured!

Sorry, my bad. I do all my reading and posting from my cell phone. All it shows are thread titles, not what section they are in. Bugs in the software I guess. Just trying to lend a helping hand.
