Shop Recommendation in Houston
« on: July 11, 2012 - 09:37:11 PM »
Hello everyone,

I enjoy your forum and wanted to join, seeing as how I bought my first 'Cuda('71, 340, 3 spd. man.).  I had to drive a long way from home to buy it, so I hired a body shop to come out and take a look at it with me when I got there, before I lost money on a car I couldn't drive or resale.  The passenger side rocker panel and A pillar are pushed in a little, not crinkled or anything.  It doesn't look too bad.  The body guy said it could be fixed on a frame machine and gave me an estimate of 600 dollars.  Anyway, I need a recommendation on a shop in Houston, TX that has done Unibody straightening before.  I didn't want to take it to just any old body shop.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Cudamaxx

I'm also in Houston, although I don't know a shop off the top of my head I'll ask some local buddies that own shops around the area.  Where about Houston are you at? I'm west near Sugar Land.

I'm in Cypress.  I've been looking around, and shops' websites that I've seen say they do restorations and a lot of body work but pulling on the rocker panel and A pillar worries me and I don't want just
anyone to do it.  Even if it costs more at a certain place, it would be worth it.  The car is actually in Brenham at my dad's shop.  So any where in this general area would be fine.

I'm in Cypress.

Stay clear of Cypress Creek today, I hear it will crest at the highest it has been since Allison with all this rain.
