Good Machine Shop in Michigan -Detroit Area?
« on: July 15, 2012 - 04:23:43 AM »
Just wondering if anyone can recommend a machine shop in Michigan - Detroit -Port Huron area? I have a set of bare 308 casting 360 cylinder heads that I want to possibly get some work done on in the near future....larger 2.02 valves / springs and maybe some professional porting from a shop that knows their stuff.
Thanks
"Tim"

Best Machine did the lifter bushings since my block had an oversize lifter from the factory. That place is HIGH DOLLAR, if you don't have deep pockets I look elsewhere.

Am-Car engines in westland built my 340 shortblock-expect for doing the lifter bushings. No fancy machine work was done-like decking, line hone and 5,500 miles later and no problems. I don't baby my engine either, 3.91's and no OD and I stay with traffic or quicker on any freeway.

Muscle Motors re did my MP heads I found on ebay, I was going to go with them but their prices for basic work were not much cheaper then for a stroker. I told them I did not want no 4 inch stroke with a factory block, I want the engine to last a nice long life. I feel there was good reasons the factories built the BBM for the extra stroke. Look at stroke pistons and the short piston skirts
