A/C Dash in a Non-A/C Chally
« on: July 15, 2012 - 07:54:40 AM »
Hey guys,

Year-one is giving 20% off including dash pads today so I'm thinking it's time to bit the bullet and order a new one. My 318 is not a factory air car but i plan to install a Vintage Air system down the road.
My question is, can i get away with ordering an A/C pad and installing it into my non-A/C car or is there a big core difference?

Cheers!

Year One pads are an ABS core. You don't want that. It'll warp.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

You can install an AC pad in a non-AC car. The thing is, you'll have to remove the pad later when you add the AC to run the duct work for the vents.

Be sure to install the ducting (at least on the passenger/middle) when installing the pad.

Ya, ask if the dashpad from YO is metal or ABS frame.  Only do the former, which means, you'll need a core to supply???

Know who is supplying the pads to YO?  Just Dashes?  UR?  Carolina?
