head light conversion
« on: July 15, 2012 - 06:17:02 PM »
Did a search, didn't find the right info. I bought a set of Pilot head lights for my Challenger. What do I use for bulbs and stuff? Thank you in advance. I would like this to be plug and play. relays would even be better.

I found this for H4 Halogens, plug & play. Has ceramic sockets, relays & plugs into the existing headlamp socket.

Any H4 style bulb will work.

Here is the Headlight set-up that I bought.  All Glass and Metal housings since I drive the interstates.  I recommend these as the fit was perfect.  The H1 units are flat faced versus a slight curve on the H4.  They work.

This is a nice topic, Gumby, as our old cars have that"nice fuzzy yellowy glow" from our old headlights.

Just a question to throw out for Gumby on this topic (You may have thought about this already), but can the stock altenator handle the needed output for these headlights?  Any need to upgrade to a bigger altenator or can a stock low amp altenator work ok?  :clueless:

They will pull virtually the same as the stock lights unless one changes the high beams to 100 w units, or so
