Rear Disc Brake Kit, who makes the best one?
« on: July 19, 2012 - 12:07:01 AM »
I want to upgade to rear disc this fall/winter on my Challenger. I don't want to run the "green" bearings either, car has a factory Spicer sure-grip. I recently had my machinist make new spacers for it out of Tool Steel. Not looking for wild or exotic and It has to have a parking brake. Any suggestions?

I think it's just under $500. I went with the upgraded aluminum caliper mounts and e-cables. Both were $100 each extra I think it was?  Cass discounted me 40 bucks because I got my own rotors elseware to match the front rotors.

The rotors are 89 Toyota Cressidia, the calipers I think are Cobra" ? What year etc... I don't know I'll have to ask him?

I put the same rear disc and rear end on my challenger.  Put new master cyclinder with larger bore.  I couldn't get the brakes to lock up no matter how hard I stomped on them.  Ending up adding power to them.  Got SSBC front disc.  No one I tallked to had any ideas other than it wasn't moving enough fluid.  I was wandering if you had a similar problem?

Hey do you have a rear sway bar.  I put a original style TA on mine and the brackets interffered with the calipers.  I had to weld up the hole and move the mount to the inside a little to make sure they cleared everything.

I haven't finished yet so I've never driven it. I have another M/C from Cass ( 1 1/8") that I plan on converting to hydroboost. I have one from a Asrto van.

I have a Hotchkis rear sway bar and it fit with no problems.

Yea the way the hotkiss mounts I imagine it was no problem.  Mine stops fine now, but I wasn't anticipating havng to upgrade further.  Every time I upgrade one thing I have change something else.  These things are worse than a boat.
