That's a Challenger.  You could get the R/T hood in a Challenger.

I've asked a few experts and all said there were no "dual scoop" hood 70 or 71 Hemi Cudas.  They all came with Shakers.

Untill you come up with some documentation proving otherwise.

There are no "dual scoop" hood 70 or 71 Hemi cudas? None? None at all?  Not just standard equipment but you are saying none at all?

You can't say that something is 100% true just because someone once told you, then say prove me wrong with documentation.

Ever heard the old phrase "Always lie and demand proof!"

OK, I say, All 1971 Plymouths had a 1943 copper penny glued to the bottom of the brake pedal.

Until you come up with some documentation proving otherwise.

Just in case I lost you here.  You can only make statements that you can prove with documentation, not the other way around.

There is no code for deleting the shaker hood as someone suggested. To delete it would have required something hand written on the order form. The factory would have needed special procedures to handle installing a different air cleaner for something that was probably never going to happen. It makes no sense to have a procedure for something "just in case". More than likely a dealer would have made the conversion, if they could figure out how to make it work.

Hope that settles it.  Tis true it is standard on Hemi Cudas, not on Challengers.  Im sure there is an exception somewhere, but that would be a rare exception.  My Cuda must have lost its penny under the brake pedal.

Only Challenger came optional with the shaker hood or dual scoop hood.  And extremely rare T/A Hood.

Are you talking about Challengers in general or Hemi Challengers?  Were there Hemi Challengers that came with a T/A hood? I'm confused...  :clueless:

The exception with the T/A hoods is that they were an available option.  The scooped hood wasn't an option on a Cuda.  I think the T/A hood was even an option in 71 for awhile.

Correct on both counts regarding the T/A hoods. Rethinking my earlier post I guess you could    have designated J54 on the order form but the factory would have questioned it and required confirmation of some kind. Not sure how the hemicuda would have got fresh air with a rallye hood though so I can't see this ever having happened. .

:iagree: I think that anything that would physically fit could be done, whether or not there was an order code for it. If nothing else, I'm sure any dealer would have been happy to do a swap in order to sell a car.

Unlike Challengers the AAR hood was only available as part of the Trans Am package.
