Please be nice, I drive a Camaro.....
« on: August 01, 2012 - 08:34:38 AM »
Hi guys,

I was told by this "wise" older guy, that goes by the name of Oldschool that you could give me some advice on a 70 Cuda for a friend, so I'm hear to learn and help.

Yes I drive a 69 Camaro that has a big block and big rear tires and a small rear, for those guys that don't like big rears!, but please don't hold that against me, I've always been a fan of the Cuda and several of my friends had them in my hometown.

Thanks and good meeting you.

Hi Bruce, welcome!

Nothing wrong with a Camaro!  Some of us E-body guys have had our cars called Camaros on occasion!  :roflsmiley:

'69 is a great year to have if you have a Camaro, got any pictures?  :clueless:
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

If I might suggest an upgrade to your Camaro, I'd recommend you drop a 426 Hemi in, you might have the fasted Chevy ever to hit the street.   :bananasmi

In all seriousness, nice car.  I enjoy them all.  It's nice of you to help out a Mopar guy.

Thanks guys for the Welcome and for some :screwy: advice on installing a Hemi in my Camaro. I've been getting ready for some catagory testing here at work and also following the sad story of Mike Romeo, whom is a fellow drag racer and also a PA resident that is not far away from my area and forgot to check back.

Please keep this to yourselves, but I always told myself if I didn't have a Camaro, it would be a Cuda or a Challenger. My favorite Cuda in my hometown was a 70 with a "stock" 340 in it, but he was so full of it, it wasn't funny and that car just pure out ran. Another friend had a 70 Challenger, that he had in storage at his farm, that was a TA Challenger that was black with black lettering. He said it came from the factory that way and was rare. I had no reason to doubt his and the car was beuatiful. I can remember him saying it had the siz pack, but not what size the motor was. That was an awesome car.

I also found out the young gentleman from Italy that I've been in touch with, about his Cuda is over here in the USA on vacation, so we won't find out how well the advice we gave him worked out until Sept.

Here's a picture of the Camaro, but it's going to look a little different soon. I'm getting a custom made hockey stick style factory strip made. It should be done this week sometime.

Thanks for taking it easy on me and Pat, I'd like "What's a Wedgie" for 1000? :woohoo:

Hmmmm....something says your license plate should read, "NOT SLO" or something like that.  :faint:

I think your Camaro is just a wee bit faster than my stock 340....  :smilielol:

FYI-All factory Challenger T/A came with a 340 Six Pack engine, underated at 290hp from the factory.

Hockeystick style stripe?  Sounds like you need a Cuda!  :grinyes:

Welcome to the site and thanks for helping a Mopar guy! What can you say about a 69 Camaro, other than it was the most produced and best looking Camaro, ever and that one of yours looks like it bites!
