getting started on 70 cuda
« on: August 01, 2012 - 03:53:45 PM »
Hello everyone.  I introduced myself about 10 months ago on this site and and have been working out of town with no laptop.  I picked up a 1970 cuda late last August.  Just wanted to let everyone know that I did get the whole engine rebuilt and am moving on to body work.  I got back from the body shop about 2 hours ago.  They told me, I'm in about 2 weeks.  I am looking for advice as where to go from here.  I need sheet metal, electrical, tires and rims, exhaust, etc.  And I sent Dave from Roseville a pm because I have heard alot of good things about him from this site and others.  So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks
Dave

Do you plan a mostly stock restoration? I ask because you'll be bombarded with suggestions if you want after-market wheels.    :grinyes:

Yes I am trying to go with stock.  I am trying to keep this a original as possible but I really don't know what that is.  I am trying to do a lot of research, but I hear quite a bit of different things.  I just don't know where to turn.  As close as to how it was in 1970 is what I really want.  Thanks.

post the fender tag codes and someone will tell you what they mean.  Just be prepared to spend some cash, I am just about done with a 71 challenger 340 clone that I made to look stock and I have over 20k in parts and I started with a complete car.

From the fender tag it looks to be a nice car. Orange, 340, and a four speed!

UPDATE: car is in the body shop. :)  Thanks to Dave, John, and the rest of the Roseville staff, I got the stuff I ordered on Tuesday like they said and the floor and trunk are in already.  John from the body shop says the pieces fit real good.  Thanks again Roseville, I will be ordering more stuff in the near future.  It is really exciting to see progress.
