    For sale:  small block 727 for someone local...

    Pulled from my car in March when swapping it for a A518.

    I pulled this from where I think the VIN is (bottom seam below shift arms and neutral safety switch)...

    Hard to see the first digit, I think it's a J...  could be a 0 for a messed up D

    J   542   4125226

    a little higher up on the tranny is

    801260-1

    Is that what you need?

    No clue.  None of those numbers look familial to me.  I'm guessing that's the part number and note the VIN.  The VIN will be on a different pad area.

    Anyone else know what those numbers mean?

    I know for manual cars mopar added a center bolt in the pattern for small blocks after 69, not sure if the did it for autos as well, but I have a 727 truck tranny in the shed I'll check it tomorrow. I also have a late 71 small block 727 at my other property from my first challenger that I can check.

    I tell ya I've been looking all over the net... I do see examples of other numbers starting with J but nothing definitive on meaning.
