Electronic ignition

I have a 71 cuda and put the chrysler electronic ignition on, sometimes when i shut it off it wont restart (Always when engine is hot) and it has no fire to the plugs, when it cools down it starts right up, i have heard that the orange ignition box,s are not good which is what i have, i'm going to order another box which one should i get.

Some people have been having issues with the chrome boxes now too.  Personally, I'd just go to your local parts house and get one from them.  It's probably only $20-$30 and might have a warrenty with it.  At least you'll know if your orange box is the issue.

it could be a bad coil or pick up in the dist also
 the coil is easy to test just jump power to it & disconnect the ground  it should spark everytime

I recently just had a pick up coil fail in a new Mopar Performance distributor with less than 100 miles on it. Don't overlook  things just because they are new.

You may want to look at the new Rev-n-nator ecu with rev limiter

dont know what the air gap is suppose to be on the pickup coil, looked to be to wide so i set it with a business card, card measured .012 and it starts good cold and hot, i did buy a Rev-n-nater but i have not installed it yet, maybe it will help my shakey idle, thanks for the help
