9ody that looks great.  You're doing an excellent job there. Did yor make the slab deep enough to install a 2 post lift?

Yes, the slab is 6" thick (3,500 PSI) with #4's 16" on center.  The slab is thicker where I plan to put the lifts, but with a 6" slab they can go pretty much anywhere.

Thanks for thinking of that.  Please feel free to through out any other ideas or thoughts anyone might have.  It's hard to think of everything when building a shop.

Wow I'm jealous, that shop looks to be five stars.

And to think my plan was to retire somewhere else and buy a big shop with a house. The only downside is you might not get everything you want in a pre-existing shop.

How about running air lines from the kick ass compressor from hanging scaffold so you can air up anywhere?

200 amp elec service so you have enough for compressor,welder,a/c heat lots of outlets,lights andexhaust sysyem for the spraybooth.

Yes on the sound system!   I also have planned a big screen outdoor wall projector for watching movies too. 

I'm putting in 400 amps and leaving room for another 200 if I need it.  The existing shop has 400 amps (paintbooth, air, cnc, lift, ect) and it's close to out of room.  I hadn't thought about A/C since it doesn't get very hot up here, but maybe I should put it in.  Good idea!

AC - If for noting else than de-humidifying the space.

Are you going to have a covered walkway between the two buildings for rolling tool boxes and jacks between buildings of the compound?

looks great! Are you going with 2x6,s for walls? that wilmake a big difference on your heating cost.I would put a service kitchen area in too with a 5,000sq.ft, bldg.

Great idea for the sidewalk between the two buildings.  Going to add that to the list to do.  Fridge is a must! 

2"x6" walls 12" on center for structural stability.

I LOVE THAT SIGN!  I think you hit the jackpot.  I showed my wife the sign and she said "do it"!  Since I own a sign company, I can build that sign for a fraction of the cost.  Thanks for the link!!!!!!!!  Great find.  :

I would have the compressor outside in a shed so you do not have the noise .
 we did floor heat , it was rediculously easy to run the tubing in the slab & heat with a water heater tank & small pump , it was always warm as the heat was near the floor . [too late]
 they have high output small diameter flourescent light tubes that give off a lot of light available .
 floor drain is nice too so you can wash indoors [too late again ]
