Pict of center spring install on 4 speed 'cuda
« on: August 09, 2012 - 03:38:56 PM »
Anyone got a picture of the center spring installed in a 'cuda?
My speedometer cable is in the way. The service manual just don't show me how it should be installed. Anyone have a tip on how to install it. Yes the dash is in the car

ok, now I got the center-spring installed (use a copel of screw drivers to widen the spring). The clutch pedal is a hole lot easier to push.

But now the pedal doen't go all the way up unless I touch under with my foot. How do i fix this?

Ok the over center spring , I could not figure out what you were asking about !!
Adjust the pushrod so it is a bit longer & the pedal will come up to the top

Remember not to adjust all the way to the top as you need to leave some play so the throw out bearing is not engaged all the time.

you need to lengthen it enough so the pedal pops up but not too long , ideally you need about 1" of free play at the top of the pedal travel
