Adding aftermarket temp gauge

So I am adding a aftermarket tempature gauge in the convertible and wondered if anyone has installed one so the dummy gauge in the standard dash still worked.  I only see one spot to install the lead into the water housing . . . Do you install a tee or something if you want both operational? Or do you just say screw the in dash one and just use the aftermarket one?      Looking for advise?

I'm using a 440 source housing and it has provisions for both. The stock one is a little 1/8 npt right?

OEM steel pump housing, unknown year. OEM guage is wired to sender to the left of T-stat housing. Aftermarket is wired to smaller brass fitting behind alt bracket. Looks like 1/8" size pipe thread fitting there on mine.

on the top of the housing near the heater hose outlets there is a 3rd plug , install the sender there , you will need a bushing but it is supplied with most gauges

I have an Edelbrock Air Gap manifold.  Ryan at Shady Dell Speed Shop tapped the manifold on the driver's side near the stat to accept an AutoMeter electronic sending unit.  He also eliminated the bypass hose by plugging the manifold and drilling 1/8" holes in the thermostat to bleed the air.

I highly recommend having both, as you can mediate the readings on the two of them as if you were judging a fight between two female mud wrestlers.  You won't be able to take take your eyes off of them.
