1973 Challenger Power Brake Booster
« on: August 22, 2012 - 02:07:18 PM »
Hi,
I'm looking for a power disc break booster for a 1973 Challenger to send out to Booster Dewey for a rebuild and to have the zinc dichromate redone. Anyone have one of these?

I just read last week where he wasn't taking on any new work.  I'd call him just to make sure.

He told me not to mail it until October. Are most members restoring the original boosters or are they purchasing aftermarket boosters. I was just wondering in case I can't find one.

Booster Dewey rebuilt my original booster.  If you don't care about being original, you can get them through a parts store.

Some 73's and 74's didn't have the Midland Ross boosters for some reason.  Some had the Bendix.  Those were painted black.  I don't know if there was a supply problem that required the factory to buy a batch through another company or what.

The difference that I saw was my original had the clamp around it and the parts store has pinch (welds?) holding it together. I am pretty sure I kept my original for the future.
