Personally I dont think it belongs in the top 10,  but at least one contributor to msn.com thinks so!:

I would agree, but who are we to complain?  if it helps bring notariety i'm ok with that.  there were a couple of cars on that list that had me scratching my head, and a few that were left of that i think should have been on, like any of Carrol Shelby's classics.  I would be curious to see the top ten most beautiful US built cars. I think the '69 charger, and either E-body (or both) would make it.

Well, I for 1 agree with the vote, although interesting only 2 of 10 cars (I think) were US made.

I see nothing wrong with a 70 Challenger being on the list.     :poopoke:

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess.  I would pick more than one of those to be in the top 10 most ugly list.

Personally, I'd call the Challenger the most beautiful car ever made. Not saying this because I own one or to be flippant. I think the car is absolutely gorgeous, and the 70 is probably the finest example of the breed.

I always thought the back of the 70 Challenger was as good as it got, with the full length tail light + center reverse.  The only thing tail light treatment that was in the same ballpark (for me) was the 69-70 Charger.

Personally I dont think it belongs in the top 10,  but at least one contributor to msn.com thinks so!:

http://autos.yahoo.com/news/the-10-most-beautiful-cars-of-all-time.html

I can shed a little light on how the 1970 Challenger made that list. Last year one of my Google searches for '1970 Challenger R/T SE' pulled up several links to Karl Brauer and his edmunds dot com blog thread about his personal example from 2010. It explains how he came to purchase his car back in 2006, but I flipped over it because my own R/T SE so closely matches his - when mine was new, that is :misbehaving: - based on a picture he included from the original owner.

http://blogs.edmunds.com/karl/2010/01/editors-personal-car-introduction-brauers-1970-dodge-challenger-rt-se.html

The yahoo link seems to have a more generic looking example while the link from ToatlCarScore where Mr. Brauer is listed as Editor In Chief and shows his own 1970 Challenger R/T SE as the example pictured.

http://www.totalcarscore.com/car-reviews/news-stories/total-car-score-ranks-top-10-best-looking-cars-of-all-time

I became even more curiouser and came across this blog thread from the same site.

http://www.totalcarscore.com/karl-on-cars/karls-cars/the-challenge-of-collector-car-ownership

It seems he's as smitten as the rest of us but that probably occurred the day he picked the car up :screwy:
