    Hi fellow ebody freaks. I am redoing my rallye gauges on a 73 cuda. I'm looking to redo the tach with modern electronics from RTE but I would like to add a shift light and incorporate it in the dash. Does any one know of a tach board with a shift light hook up to it? Thanks in advance for your post.

    That's a neat idea you have there, but I haven't seen it done yet. Maybe someone else knows better than myself though.

    Hmmm I wonder if I can butcher a swap meet tach and bury it inside the dash and use its shift light in my dash. Any problems running two tachs?

    probably the easiest way , use one of the factory warning light holes or use an LED in the tach face

    If you are using the rally dash there is a hole between the speedo and tach twords the top that wasn't used that the wood grain covers up. If you could find a way to open up the wood grain tin and make it look factory that would be cool.

    For $40.00 this looks like it would fit nicely

     But that will work. I think I will pull the light out and mount in the dash like you said and mount the body with the controls some where accessible so I can change the shift point. Thanks

    I also started to wrap all the 70's faux wood grain pieces with a carbon fiber look vinyl. This is the same stuff they use to wrap hoods. Very chip and scratch resistant. I have pulled all the interior panels and dash out to refinish them with Alsa Soft Touch paint. The OEM's are using this stuff on exterior and interior panels. Neat stuff depending on how you reduce it it can feel like leather, suede, or vinyl. Not cheap either. $250 for two quarts.

    Did you just trip it up close gor the chrom trim?

    Your Avatar is way COOL :cooldancing:, I laid it out and used a heat gun to get the hard spots then trimed it around the chrome. I got the new switch labels just havent put them on yet. I found some one who makes an carbon fiber overlay for the dash and console. but I didn't bookmark it so I will hunt for it again and post it later.

    I also got the carbon fiber overlays but haven't found anyone that does the non-rallye sticker yet.

    Finally got all my switches all taken care of. I'm going to start with double sided tape and then use adhesive when I'm ready to make the switch on the dash.

    I think I saw where someone hooked up the seat belt warning light to illuminate at a desired RPM.   That would be pretty cool if you were keeping the stock looking interior.
