Had to pull the headers anyways. Couldn't get the engine up high enough for the headers to clear the k-member before I had issues with the distributor/firewall, and tranny/floor hump.
Never thought it was that easy to install an engine/tranny as a unit though from the top. Took about 1/2 hr to drop into the other car and only 6 bolts to secure it. Way nicer than messing with mating the tranny under the car.
Need new headers anyways, these ones ones got pretty dinged up. Brand new ceramic coated too.
But, I am sure glad I never entertained the thought of repairing this car. Cracks in the frame, Shock tower, K-member. Twists and wrinkles everywhere. And that's just the front end. The worse damage is from center back.
