71 cuda rear valance mounts
« on: August 31, 2012 - 10:15:24 AM »
hey all,
trying to mock up 71 cuda with new amd rear valance, what should the upper and lower holes in valance it seld fasten to, are there brackets?
I have seen a cuda pic with 2 long brackets that go down and under car, but only ones i can find look nothing like it. only ones listed from year 1 look right but say are they for a challeneger. and the ones listed for 71 cuda look completely wrong, would not even reach lower holes.
also does the top bolt to rear cross bar below tail panel, it appears that there would need a bracket to bring surface out to meet where valance sits?

any help or pics would be great
thanks

Those long brackets are for 70' cuda only. They weren't on 71's.

Ok that looks right, but what about bottom holes in valance?
I seems maybe 70 brackets would be the best it would give me all mounting points needed, thoughts?

any body think it would not be okay to use 70 rear valance brackets to mount 71 rear valance on 71 car?

Why do you want the brackets when there were none on a 71 originally anyway?

the original 70 valance did NOT have the stiffening brackets welded  onto the valance as to 71 72-4 did .
thus the reason for the small brackets for 71-4
i beleive the 70 bracket will hit the valance support of the 71 and up.

Okay, but what attaches to pre-punched holes along bottom of 71 valance?
