Well here is a pic of a t-56 that's getting ready to go to its home in my chally. It's an 03 trans but t-56 and t-6060 are pretty similar dimensionally. I think the Tr-6060 has an advantage with the remote mounted shifter. Plenty of aftermarket suppliers out there making good shifters for it now, and its where you would want the shifter to be. The downside would be the extra trans-tunnel clearance needed at the tailshaft. Not impossible by any means, but definitely breaking new ground.  The other issue with the remote mount would be the re-engineering of the torsion bar cross-member which could be interesting. Especially if you plan on keeping the torsion bar suspension. This pic is nice because you can see how much shifter offset is needed to get it so it feels right when seated.

Yup, Major redesign on the tunnel and cross member if you plan on using the factory torsion bars  :pullinghair:

Just out of curiosity, how did you decide on a tail shaft height?
If you compare a T56 to a 833. The input shaft will obviously be at the same horizontal plane.
But isn't the output shaft lower on a T56 than an 833 (keeping the input shaft level)? If This is correct then mounting the T56 tailshaft at the same height as a 833 would cause it to angle up changing drive shaft angles?
Correct me if I'm wrong, maybe I'm over thinking this.
I have both trans and will get measurements when I can.
