supercharger kit for a smallblock E-body.
« on: September 03, 2012 - 07:10:32 PM »
Does anyone know of a good supercharger kit that would fit easily under the stock hood of an 73 challenger. If anyone has added a procharger or similar system I would like to know how it performed and what parts were needed to complete.
Thanks

Try talking to Bob at the Supercharger Store.  He was very helpful, they deal with Prochargers.  In doing this application, you may have to switch over to a GM power steering pump.  Talk to Bob, he'll give you the details.  I contacted him a while ago and the details are kinda blurry.

On my stock '72 340 with 8.5:1 compression he told me I could get 400hp without stressing the stock components.

1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

I'm not always a fan of how a centrifugal supercharger (Paxton, Procharger, Vortek, Supercharger store) looks after it's been installed, to much piping where they're shouldn't be. Here is an example of good clean install http://owners.procharger.com/supercharged/407. I'd like to do something like that eventually!

I've read where Paxton makes superchargers for small block Mopars. Didn't look too bad in the pictures.
