If i decide not to go with a supercharger what is the best power combination to go with using a smallblock 340. Whats the best power combo  heads, cam , carb., bore/stroke, crank, rods, pistons. What power levels have you guys achieved both flywheel and at the wheels.

the best I did with race heads & roller cam in a street engine was about 440 rwhp from 440 ci so figure 1 / ci
 Best combo for a 340
 R3 Block W8 or W9 heads I heard of a small block stroker build that put a tube chassis car within a few hundreths of Pro stock times in a 400 lb lighter car about 10 years ago so what 800 HP or so  :scared:

My engine builder did a 360 ci build for Car Craft http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles/ccrp_1110_pump_gas_small_block_mopar/ that put out 620 hp.

As for the max, I have heard of people getting over 800 hp on pump gas......just not sure how long they lived though.

The engine is actually 408 cid, but it's based on a 360 block.
mmmmm.... Mopar.... *drool*
