    I spoke to Scott at Lojack.  See the flier below.

    I'm pretty sure I'll have this installed.  I'm just trying to decide if I want to extend the warranty from 2 years to 7 years, and if I want to opt for the early warning for $300.



    But, if anyone else calls Scott, signs up and mentioned that I (Rick) referred them, they send me a $25 VISA card.  My thought is that I would donate any of those referral cards to Jackie, to assist in her recovery.  It would go for a good cause, and this seems like a great price for piece of mind.

    When I look at that page it shows me a price of $695.

    I also don't see any sort of option to not have them install it.

    I re-posted my flier.  Forgot that it had my address on it.  No need to make it easy for someone looking for a car.

    I'm told that they have select installers that are familiar with classic cars and perform the installation with the owners help and input on where it gets installed.  I still need a bit more info on this.  I want to find out if there are limitations on where it is installed, ie, engine compartment, trunk, under a seat, etc.

    I have to search around on the website and see if there is a self install option.  If I can't find it, then it's out.  I hate people.  I don't even like them on my street, much less anywhere near my car.

    I wonder if it works only in the USA? ( I'm in Canada) or anywhere in the world? Lots of these cars end up in shipping containers headed for the middle east, etc....?

    They list their coverage area here by counties in the US states: https://store.lojack.com/content.aspx?page=CurrentCoverageArea

    Might be worth a call to them to see if they currently offer, or plan to offer this in your part of Canada.

    I started to worry that if a car gets stolen, and they drive out of the county that it's offered in, are you SOL?  It's only offered in the two southern counties of NH.

    The early warning notifies you within 15 minutes if it's been moved with out the appropriate RF tag in proximity.  But someone could be out of my local county in 20 minutes.  And it they head north toward the less populated part of the state, all bets are off.

    If we live next to county without coverage and the bad guys can make it that far in 15 minutes, what are the chances of recovery?

    I don't / can't always have my cell phone on me.  Can the early warning option make notification to multiple #'s?

    What kind of battery chemistry is used? Is it Nimh, li-on, ????

    Once the two years are up, do you just swap out the battery or what?
