We need a little history of your car.

Did it run fine up until now, or has it sat for any length of time?

If it only started when you floored the gas pedal, this isn't an electrical problem.

If it has been sitting a while, I would say a clogged fuel filter, or crud in the carburetor. Maybe even stale gas.   :dunno:

the car has sat for about ten years, i cleaned the carb, and cleaned the fuel filter. also put 5 gallons of premium fuel in.

Are you sure the choke isn't closed?
If I cant fix it, it's broke

Was the tank sitting empty for 10 years?  They tend to corrode up when they sit empty a long time.  I'd check the filter again and see if it's not all clogged with rust/scale and other nastiness it might have picked up from the tank.
If it's cranking and it has fuel, next I'd look at spark, particularly weak spark.  You didn't say what year you had so I'm not sure if you have electronic ignition or the older point style.  Might be worth pulling the distributor cap and making sure everything is clean/gapped right/etc.

Most of the time when people have that problem, it's a bad coil.
