Any News or Experiences With New Passon 5 Speed?

I was on the Passon's website today and the A855 was advertised as finally available. Anyone out there actualy holding the A855 in his/her hands already? Or maybe even installed and driving it.

I have been on the waiting list with a gearbox less car for 6 months. That word 'finally' on Passon's website simply refers to the concept of a Mopar 5 speed that actually does fit. Jaimie , I believe, is on the home straight as he has finally received the last interlock part needed to complete his production units. My last message from his business was about 2 weeks ago and it stated that production should be starting in 4 weeks. At30-40 units per week it should be a max of 6 weeks until I get my unit. I have had a $2200 deposit down for 6 months. This unit, even at his planned pricing, is simply the best deal for a Mopar guy who wants a 5 speed -period!! All those other units are less expensive to buy but end up being a time and money nightmare during the install process along with the design flaws. Read vibration issues, design flaws etc.

So this 4sp OD can be a reality in my car for about half the price of a whole new 5sp. Sounds like a real option to me, especially since it is already available.

I've about decided the same thing for the Roadrunner.  I've got a 4.10 Dana to go into it and even the 4 speed OD gets the final ratio to around a 3.28 which is almost identical to the original 3.23 rear gear it came with.  The .70 overdrive of the 5 speed would be even better, I'm just not sure it will be worth the difference in the long run especially since Passon's OD 4 speed seems to have such a solid reputation.  The other option is a Gear Vendors unit, but I'm inclined to keep it more stupid simple and just keep all the gears inside the std transmission.

If you keep your eyes on the Moparts site under "Hot Deals and New Products" Jaimie does update occasionally there. His last update was that the parts are now made and in the heat treatment place. When I spoke to him he stated that heat treating will be done on a batch process and it may take two days to get the oven to stabilize for his process. His only problem is having to rely on other vendors to make parts for the gearbox. He must be close but he has not committed to actual delivery dates yet. I sold my 4 OD but will be putting a pickup OD in for now to get me going as I can pick these up for about $150 with shifter.
