Last word I read was on the 11th of September, and that was only regarding the availability of spare arts, once the unit was released.

Nothing since.

No unfortunately. Here I am stuck gearboxless. Last time I talked with Jaimie he said the machine shop that will make this very complicated interlock has a $1m govt contract. But honestly, with a machine shop that has 10 guys they should push a million bucks of work out in the most about two weeks. People are hanging and hanging such as I. I will call Jaimie mid January as per we agreed to. He is getting pi$$ed off with all the calls and the pressure. That shop assisted in the R& D and somewhere in the picture he has a business partner so a lot hanging on this. Have not even had a report lately from the beta testing guys who have some in various cars. Last report I read was about Dec 2011 and that guy had all good things to say especially the shifting and the abuse it could take. So typical Passon design - well thought out. The forum will be the first to get my updates.

He was talking on Mopoarts but last time we spoke he said it gets too complicated to respond to everyone. He takes phone calls sometimes when he can. But so far my last post was the latest update and have not talked to him since.

Russ - that link is not really an update as it is a query from lots of folks as to when it will be ready. The only response we are all waiting for is from Mr Passon himself.

Yeah I realise that but considering Jamie actually responds and give updates via it sometimes, it's be the best place to keep current, aside from talking to him directly.

If it was out now already, I'd also erder one. But probably the waiting list is already so long, that the tranny would have incredible lead time, even if it was released tommorow:)

I believe the list is about 200 or so long. What Jaimie told me that once production starts he will phone those on the waiting list and tell them to pay or disappear then move to the next person. He estimated 30 to 40 per week production so the lead time would not be that great. As I live in Canada I am buying mine through his distributor here and have put half the dollars down already.

Even in that case it's  gonna take around two months to deliver to all those guys on the list. Anyway, I hope the A855 is available soon.

As a speculation from watching new products hit the market in the past; they're higher priced at the beginning.

I'm hoping this will be the same trend on the Passon 5 speeds as well.

If I were in his shoes, I would try to target these new 5 speeds at $3,500 each if/when it becomes possible.
That's a price he'll get the most business overall and should still pull a profit.   :2cents:

I think they're going for $4400.  :money:  Hella $$$, but better than $3500 plus a lot of hacking and frustration I guess.

A while ago I priced a TKO 600 Tremec at $2400 starting price but with special bell, clutch, TO, shifter relocate, driveshaft, etc etc it rang up to about $4400. Then I had to cut the floor and butcher cross member which costs are not included above. I doubt if the price will ever go that low from my conversations of past with Jaimie. He indicated it would go from $4200 upwards. If you have the 18 spline clutch at present it is simply a 2 hour job to change this no other parts required. That is a great offering at the price.
