Hello, I just installed a "Crush Can" on my 1970 Cuda. I made sure that the "Crush Can" was keyed properly with the double spline before installing. After the splines were lined up, I installed the "Crush Can" and tightened. However, after the "Crush Can" was tightened down, there is a gap between the bottom of the "Crush Can" and the steering column housing that supports the ignition switch. I do remember seeing a gap in other Cudas that have a "Crush Can".
OK, Here's my question: What is the typical (Average) distance of the gap between the bottom of the Crush can" and the steering Column housing?
I have attached a picture as a reference. Please note that I really tightened this as much as possible. I even removed the "Crush Can", re aligned the splines and reinstalled. Still have a gap.
Thank you!
