Frame Connector Question
« on: February 23, 2005 - 08:55:20 PM »
Does anyone know if I could use a set of frame connectors for a 70 Chally on a 72 Cuda?  They are 3'' X 1'' ones and I have heard with those you don't have to cut into the floor pans.  My buddy has a set and said I can have them and he will weld them in for me as well.

When i was looking at frame connectors there were different listing for cuda and challengers, I dont know if they were actually different, but if they were the same why wouldn't they just put them under "e-body". Either way, If they are different, they cant be by much. Chances are you can make them work with a little patience, a welder, and a cutoff wheel.  Hopefully someone that has experienced this can shed more light on it. Good luck.

Basically it should work But the wheelbase is 2" shorter on the Cuda so it may be short

You may have already figured this out by now but if the Cuda is 2" shorter, the Chally rails should fit in nicely with a bit of trimming. I would measure from the front to the rear where they are suppose to be welded in and go from there. If you had Cuda rails and wanting to install them in a Chally that would be a whole different story. I'd take him up on it and get em installed!
