Got smoked by a GT 500
« on: September 19, 2012 - 06:42:01 AM »
A buddy of mine works with a guy that has one of the new 662 HP Mustangs. We met at the strip for some Friday Night Test and Tune.
The first time we lined up, I saw him in my rear view mirror going side ways. He could not get it out of the hole.
Next pass, I waxed him out of the hole again, but he caught me at the end and went by me like I was standing still. I was on slicks, he was running stock street tires ($375 EACH).
Here are some numbers....
Mustang - 60 ft. @ 2.2  - Quarter mile  12.11
Challenger - 60 ft. @ 1.75 - Quarter mile 12.31

You have got that Chally flying....   :burnout:  Great numbers, a low 12 second street car is pretty quick. Some of those late model cars run pretty well too.....   :2thumbs:

:iagree:  No shame in the numbers you posted!

What are you running for an engine?  Horsepower?  12 seconds is VERY respectable for a street car!  :grinyes:

I agree!

Ford did his work for him.

You did yours.

Way to represent.

Yea bro I would be proud of those numbers with a car that looks like yours! His 500 may be fast, but you see new mustangs everyday. Most people dont don't give that car a second look. Yours is a neck-breaker!

I still keep looking at those numbers... you were slower by 0.2 seconds.  That IMO isn't getting smoked!

It take me longer than that to fart!!!  :roflsmiley:

In fact if I were the guy with the GT500, I'd be a little embarrassed at it being so close.

Impressive, with his crappy 60's, he really should be in the 11's with some decent tires.
