Drive shaft insanity
« on: September 20, 2012 - 12:20:14 PM »
Wife's 68 barracuda has a 360/727.... 1971 E-body DANA......which is really nice.. PROBLEM, front yoke of drive shaft is gm, rear seems to be for the 68 but is cut and welded (to shorten?), says SPICER,   the u-joint in rear is toooo short  for the DANA, so someone tack welded stops inside the removable u-joint retainers  :swear:  :stomp:  :pullinghair:
How do we make this correct??????

They make adapter u-joints? Do you have a 1350 size on the rear end yoke?  Do you have a front yoke that fits in the 727 now? I have one if you need it?

Brad, the front yoke fits BUT its a gm and we don't want it near our MOPAR, lol...    I will measure the distance from outside cup to outside cup on the DANA,  or does that matter....

  thanks..jim

So your saying a GM yoke fits in a 727? I never knew that?

Hemi Hunter-
Check out Denny's Driveshaft's.

He has combination U-Joints of various sizes
http://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/c90_u_joints.html

Also, how to measure for  a driveshaft correctly
http://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/how_to_measure.html

I ordered my combo U-Joints from them.  I spoke with them on the phone and they were very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.
Good luck, hopefully you'll have it figured out soon
Ron
