Secret Ninja Bezel Glue
« on: September 22, 2012 - 04:59:13 PM »
Hey there, one of the round chrome bezels that goes around the rear lights on my Cuda has detached itself, and I was wondering if there is a secret ninja Mopar glue that folks use to stick those suckers back on. As a contractor, I would tend toward 2-part epoxy, but thought I would check with y'all Guru types before busting out the industrial grade goods. Any suggestions?

I read about this tip on here..... which was to use regular auto body seam sealer.  It allows it to stick without being impossible to remove.  You don't need much.  I think I used 3M All-Around Autobody Sealant.  You could also probably use like a clear silione RTV.

I wouldn't use 2 part epoxy just from the damage it would cause if you ever need to remove it.  Anyway, my two cents.

I'd probably use clear silicone too.  Just a little will do.  If any silicone pushes out the sides when you install the bezel, don't touch it.  Let it completely dry.  Then you can take a new razor blade and trim the excess.  You'll just smear it around if you try to clean it up wet.

I used 100% clear silicone to attach a rear window louver on a 91 Daytona I had right out of highschool.  It did a great job of holding that big thing on...it will work fine for a tail light bezel.
