Paint options for rear tail panel

what type of paint is use to black out the rear tail panel for a 72 Cuda, the car is going to be FE5 rally red, from looking at pictures it seems to be a satin or matte texture type paint.

If it's not a factory restoration, you could paint it black with a satin clear.  You can even adjust the amount of satin in the clear coat for a custom look (that's what I did).

If you are looking to paint the tail panel black it is NOT dark argent! Dark Argent is a textured silver paint and is most common on the rally wheel center caps in 71, compared to light argent which is the color on the 70 rally wheel center caps. The correct black paint is called organasol which has a texture to it and is rather expensive. There are many routes to go for blacking out the tailpanel if not a correct restoration.

In 72-74 Barracudas had body colored tail panels.  The Cuda tail panels were painted with black organisol.  It has a slight texture to it but not nearly the texture of argent.  You can buy organisol from Totally Auto in a spray can.  I think it is around $25 plus shipping.  You can also use SEM Trim Black if you don't care about being totally correct.

Year One still carries the correct PPG organasol paint. It's correct and is lacquer based.
