All the important convertible parts are there it's definately worth more then $3k but I do agree that it's never a good idea to take the doors off of a rusty convertible E-body  and letting it sit like that without bracing it.

from what I got from him over the phone the doors came with it like that in the car and are from a different car so they have likely been off for a long time. It looked like the floor was still decent. What panels are not made? I know the wheel houses, rocker panels but are all the cowl pieces and door pillars made?

They make pretty much everything now except the convertible specific sheet metal. The doors will work. They make the cowl peices, the door pillars, rocker patch panels, quarters, wheel houses. The outer wheel houses for a hardtop can be modified to work for the convertible but the inners and the upper portion are very different and hopefully the ones on the car can be patched. This car will need a ton of work and lots of money to restore. Unless you have most of the parts already and can do all your own work you're better off buying one done at this point. All these convertible projects are coming out of the woodwork these days for a reason.

No way this was a west coast car unless it lived it's entire life at Pacifica near the shore.

I can say that this is a frame-off jobby.  I see that the engine compartment is where the bending is.  Buyer will be building an entire new car.  That takes planning, time/endurance, space, money and skill.  Better have your finances straight too as to not be the next guy who lets her sit around.  The eventual Buyer will have metal repair tools, access to a frame straightener, body experience and plenty of room for all this work.

With that said, I have many of the parts needed to complete this job.

I see that as a hardtop to convertible conversion kit now. Like Joe said that car will be a ton of work. I would buy it if it were closer and make myself a 71 convertible clone out of a friends rust free hardtop roller. It'd be alot less work then replacing every piece of metal on that thing.

You're looking at $20K-$25K in new sheet metal and $30k in labour to bring it back to "body-in-white" status.  It's been done.

Can anyone explain the reverse light; or is it a seat belt light on the dash?
I don't recall those on A/T cars before.

I think it is a reverse light. So it must be a dash from a 4 speed?

gotta be a seatbelt light.  looks like auto on the floor car.

Looks like a reverse light for a 4-speed but it is mounted to the passenger side of the gap, 4-speed reverse lights are mounted near the drivers side of the gap between the ashtray and the glovebox. Did they make one of these for seatbelts?
