no matter what anybody says it is always cheaper to do it yourself if your handy and have time to research your parts. if you go to moparts.com under tech archives in manual and clutches. and look for cheap tremec 600 install alot of useful info. I started getting parts for my build. tranny tko 500 $850, pilot bushing custom made from two pilot bearings $30, throwout bearing $50, by the time I am all done I will be into it for like 1500 installed alot cheaper then 3500

Thanks for posting the photo blknout.

That photo was taken on my garage floor.  As you can see the by the photo there are three set-ups that you need to do on the tail casing.  The top which is obvious and the side bosses then stand it on end for the shaft seal that is needed on the tail casing.  The photo also shows the connection between the shifter the now-external shifter rail.  That shifter rod right there will cost you about $200.00 with the machining that needs to be done to it.....unless you have the ability to mill it yourself.

The price doesn't seem to bad for the complete kit although it is close to 5k but that's with everything. I am a few years out or more so I may just keep my eyes out for a ford tko and see if I can come up with one cheap amd see about machining it. Does hurst sell the shifter assembly for the trans seperatey?

Your not getting that shifter anywhere.  I have been looking for a while for it and no luck. You could do the Keisler setup ill get a pic of that later

sorry bigblue I got the pic off the internet. I dont want to step on anyones toes.

this is the keisler setup. very easy to do at home with some simple over the counter parts and fabrication. I think it looks cheesy next to the hurst setup imo. if you are going to save to buy any setup and not do it yourself I would get the hurst setup

if your doing it yourself this is where the shifter will come through the floor. you would have to do something custom like the pic of the shifter

Is the top pic a stock shifter or is it the one that has the homemade looking bracket? The one that comes out of the center may not be bad if all you loose is the console.

thats a t5 tranny. thats just to give you an idea of things to do so you dont have to buy the 4000 dollar kit. If you look at the other pic you can see the shifter next to the stock location. you can just use 2 inch flat stock and bend it to where you need it or do a remote shifter like I am doing
