Well, first off the car was in pretty nice shape.
Had a nice paint job several years ago.
Organasol paint was not correct. Matte paint in place of what I know as the black out paint.
Had a respray of under coating. looked like original under coating.
The Rear quarter antenna hole looked to be a nicely cut hole. Didn't look like an amateur job any way.
Had what looked to be very old corrosion as the resto shop did not spray up anywhere on the car.
Front fender had no hole welded so it looked like an original aar passenger fender.
Fenders were not rolled fenders.
The grill was not original. Replacement grill had several breaks.
Dash appeared to be replaced. Had a metal core.
Barracuda emblem script missing on dash pad.
72-74 rally dash with a non rally three light bar.
missing splash guards in front fenders.
The hood was a reproduction. Don't know who's.
Rims were wrong year with wrong center caps.
Front windshield appeared to be new replacement.
Nice interior, lots of new replacement parts, carpet, upholstery, headliner, etc.
Trunk has collapsible spare, jack, bottle, etc.
So, from here the car appears to be a pretty nice car any way.
Then I look at the vin tag to try to match the numbers up across the car.
Number 283702.
Sure enough, it match's with the cowl number.
Get under the car, match's with the engine block.
look back and it match's on the transmission.
Look, look, and look and I could not find a stamped number anywhere on the radiator support.
However, the support did not appear to have been replaced. So, maybe the shop was really good?
I double check all the numbers on the car and they all appear to be legit.
All have the same font on the 0's and all.
The fender tag is at the owners home. Happens that the owner is the owner of the dealership.
He got the car from another Chevy dealership in the springs (no details).
I get to looking at the vin tag and I notice that the rivets are all wrong.
Not only that but positioned wrong.
There are astric's on the tag.
Can someone tell me what is wrong with that picture? Terrible.
So, I advise Jason to stay away from the car. Funny things happening.
Later I guess the dealer contacted Jason with more details on fender tag.
Jason? CruddyMutt?
